Prehnite Tumble Stone

Prehnite is a stone that doesn't shout. Pale, translucent and quietly luminous, it has a softness that is immediately felt without being immediately explained. It is said to be the stone of unconditional love, not the dramatic, consuming kind, but the steady, patient kind that asks nothing in return and gives without keeping score.

It was the first mineral to be named after a person, Colonel Hendrik von Prehn, a Dutch military commander who brought it to Europe from South Africa in the eighteenth century. It has been used since then across traditions that understand it as a stone of calm, of inner peace and of the particular stillness that comes not from the absence of difficulty but from the presence of something steady beneath it.
