About black obsidian
Black obsidian is volcanic glass, formed when lava cools too quickly to crystallise. Polished, it's glossy and almost mirror-like; raw, it keeps the sharp, shell-shaped edges of the way it broke. We have it both ways, as a polished tumble stone and a raw stone.
Obsidian is one of the most widely used protective stones, and is often called the honest one, said to show what's really there.
